When you open your Studio you might notice that it takes a while to load your cases and reports. Leaptest Controller can consume considerable amount of disk space and RAM and therefore influence the performance of your machine as well. This usually happens when you have a lot of large cases with many images and web elements. However, there are a few tips that will optimize loading time and performance.
- Less nested groups
Groups make the case look more organized, but with a nested structure (groups inside of groups) it takes a lot of memory to get to the deepest nesting level. This is why it’s better to use custom blocks inside of groups rather then nested groups.
- Optimized Retention policies in Studio settings.
The default number of runs to keep is 500, but lowering their number will speed up the loading process. If you need old runs you can manually save the automation runs in some other location on your PC and bring them back to AutomationRuns folder in your project when you need to review the old reports again. Make sure success videos are deleted after 1 hour.
- Less open cases and reports
Save and close the cases and reports that you are not working with at the moment reducing their amount to 1-3 at a time.
